HISTORY  &  BACKGROUND

2000 - PRESENT:





THE DECADE OF THE 90's:

In 1989, Ralph was completing his Religious Studies and his tenure as a public policy advisor to the California Department of Education.

In 1990, Ralph was among 15 Vineyard Ministers sponsored by the Association of Vineyard Churches as a new co-hort of Graduate Students at the Charles E. Fuller Institute of Church Growth & Evangelism (Fuller Theological Seminary). Ralph studied under the eminent Church Growth authority Dr. Robert (Bob) Logan. Pastor Ralph & Deborah Pacheco planted their first (new) church Living Stone Christian Fellowship in 1993.

In 1991, Ralph completed his 4 year term on the Board of Trustees at Rio Hondo Community College District and ran for an open seat on the Governing Board of the Whittier Union High School District. Ralph was elected to the high school Board in November, 1991. Ralph retired from the College Board in December, 1991.

In 1996, Ralph accepted the appointment as Pastor of Church Development & Resources at Regency Christian Center International (RCCI) in Downey, CA. He also began a distinguished 7 year teaching career as Adjunct Professor of Biblical Studies. He was awarded his Doctorate in Divinity (D.D.) from Vision International University in 1997.

In 1997, Ralph changed the name of his consulting firm to Professional Resources Network (PRN), an Education & Management Consulting Group. (PRN became an LLC in 2001).

Dr. Pacheco continued with his involvement statewide as a leader in the business community, educational community, ecumenical community, social service & public policy arena. A partial list of his work is as follows:

THE  EARLY  YEARS  (1970's & 80's):

Ralph Pacheco is the proud son of Seferino & Esperanza Pacheco. Ralph's father Seferino attended UCLA and became a very successful Engineer and Small Business Owner. Ralph's mother was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmohter who raised 3 boys and 1 girl, she passed away at the tender age of 51.

Seferino was a WWII Veteran, moved into their first home Whittier (CA) when he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1945 after the War ended. The Pacheco Family moved from Whittier, CA in 1951 to Norwalk (CA) where Ralph was raised.

Ralph attended public schools in the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District and graduated with Honors in 1973. He attended Cerritos College, and was a part of the LAU National Origin Desegregation Center at San Diego State University where he studied under an early mentor Dr. Alberto Ochoa, Director of the  Lau NOD & Education Center.

Ralph did a Graduate Internship through the CORO Foundation - Public Policy & Public Affairs Program - (Los Angeles) the City of Norwalk was the Sponsoring Organization / Governmental agency providing the tuition for the internship.

Ralph also received training from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Campaign Institute in Electioneering and Campaign Management and was assigned to his first U.S. Congressional Race in the early 1970's. He remained active in the party through the 1980's and served on the California Democratic State Central Committee [first appointed by state Senator Cecil Green (D) in 1987.]
He began his professional campaign consulting services in 1981 after having served as a campaign staff / manager the previous 7 years.

In 1979, Ralph received a calling to the Christian Ministry and became a Lay Youth Minister. He studied for the Pastorate (1987-1989) at the Vineyard Bible Institute and was licensed as a Vineyard pastor.

Ralph also has an extensive business, education, community, and governmental service record during the 1970's and 80's. Here is a partial listing of his work:

  • Public Policy Advisor to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
  • Chairman, City of Norwalk - Blue Ribbon Project Implementation Commission.
  • Chairman, City of Norwalk Project Area Committee (PAC) for Redevelopment (Project Area #2)
